# Quick Start

## 1. Install & Requirements
| OS | Requirements | Distribution |
| --- | --- | --- |
| macOS | macOS 13+, Apple Silicon optimized | In-app update channel or TestFlight dmg |
| Windows | Win11 22621+, WDDM 3.0 | Native installer with auto-update |
| Linux | Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 38+, rolling Arch | AppImage + deb packages with SHA-256 checksum |

> Node.js 22 runtime ships inside every build—no extra tooling needed.

> On Ubuntu 24.04 and later, choose the `.deb` rather than the AppImage. 24.04 restricts
> unprivileged user namespaces by default and Electron's sandbox needs them; the `.deb` registers
> an AppArmor profile granting `userns` during installation, and an AppImage has no install step
> in which to do that. If you must use the AppImage, allow it for the session with
> `sudo sysctl -w kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0`.

## 2. First Launch
1. Run the installer and allow CoreBox global shortcut.
2. Sign in via Apple ID, GitHub, or email.
3. Approve device trust to pull workspace + plugin inventory.

## 3. Account & Sync
- **Workspace**: starts with “Personal”; create more for teams or experiments.
- **Sync mode**: choose “Instant” or “Low Frequency”; mobile syncs on Wi‑Fi only.
- **Data ownership**: stored locally in LibSQL; cloud only sees encrypted config shards.

## 4. Try It
- `⌥ + Space` / `Alt + Space`: summon CoreBox. If pressing it opens another app instead (such as Raycast, Alfred or ChatGPT), that app holds the key: pick a different shortcut in Settings.
- CoreBox includes **App Semantic Alias Catalog / 应用语义别名目录**: search `im`, `chat`, or `即时通讯` to recall installed messaging apps such as WeChat, Lark, and Telegram; search `design`, `ps`, or `设计` for Photoshop/Figma-style tools; search `vsc` or `code` for VS Code.
- Drag the Dock icon to switch workspaces.
- Notification widget shows workflow queue + plugin health.

## 5. Troubleshooting
- Logs: `~/Library/Logs/Tuff` or `%LOCALAPPDATA%/Tuff/logs`.
- CoreBox `diagnose` command exports a health report.
- Refer to `../tips/faq.en.md` for common fixes.

## 6. Plugin Recommendations
- New users can start from [Recommended Plugin Bundles](./features/recommended-plugins.en.mdc).
- Every built-in plugin now has a dedicated page in [Built-in Plugin Catalog](./features/plugins/index.en.mdc).
